Why is it important?
Without regular brushing, food "sits" in and around teeth and gums, which leads to bacteria and tartar build up. This can cause gingivitis, periodontitis, and eventually tooth loss, causing pain that potentially stops or reduces your pet eating.

Our pets can't tell us they have sore gums or a toothache, so it is important that we take preventative measures to support and promote their oral health.
"80% of pets now suffer from some form of dental disease such as gingivitis, peiodontitis and tartar build up."¹

Emmi Pet Terms & Conditions
-
The wellbeing and safety of your pet is a priority, alongside yours and mine. If a procedure cannot be finished due to the behaviour of your pet, then the full price of the service will still be charged.
-
In order to ensure the welfare of pets in my care, some services may not be completed in one visit, and may require subsequent visits which are still chargeable at full rates.
-
Under the RCVS code of conduct, I have a professional responsibility to put the welfare and health of animals first, and have a duty to ensure I maintain high standards of work. Please remember that I am not a vet, nor a substitute for consulting your own vet practice if your pet is unwell.
-
Emmi Pet tooth cleaning is not a scale and polish. This is a procedure carried out by a veterinarian within a veterinary practice, whilst your pet undergoes a general aesthetic.
-
I am not a vet and cannot diagnose any problems with your pet’s mouth or teeth.
-
The Emmi-pet is not a veterinary procedure.
-
Emmi pet is designed to improve gum and mouth health and help to eliminate associated bad breath, however the effectiveness and outcome of treatment is not guaranteed for individuals due to various factors and stressors that contribute to dental health and oral hygiene.
-
Every dog will require an initial consultation, to be carried out within 6 months of a follow up appointment. This is to establish your pet’s suitability, and whether they are likely to be tolerant.
-
Upon your initial consultation, I can assess the suitability of Emmi pet treatments. If your dog's teeth have a significant amount of tartar or are in poor condition, I would recommend you to seek advice from your vet. After completing any vet recommended treatment, I should be able to return to provide regular maintenance visits as required.
-
Assessing the suitability for Emmi Pet for your pet is not a veterinary oral exam. Only a veterinarian can chart teeth, identify and diagnose any conditions such as gingivitis, or problems with the teeth. This is usually done under general aesthetic within a veterinary practice.
-
I cannot be held responsible for any problems occurring from poor dentition before, during or after any ultrasound treatments – such as tooth removal, gingivitis etc.
-
Removal of tartar can reveal conditions that could not be seen prior to its removal. If this occurs, it is the responsibility of the owner to seek veterinary attention.
-
During an initial consultation, every pet will receive their own toothbrush head that is theirs to keep at your own premises. Please ensure this is ready for use for your next follow up appointment. The heads last approximately 20 uses. They may need to be replaced more often if it is damaged or your pet chews on it. Replacement heads cost £12.50.
-
Should your pet become intolerant to further cleaning during your appointment, the procedure may need to be rescheduled for another time. The appointment rate still applies. It may take several weeks or months for your pet to become accustomed to accepting Emmi pet cleaning, so it is important not to force it upon them. Their wellbeing and welfare is a priority.
-
If during your initial consult your pet is found to be unsuitable to receive further follow up visits for any reason, full payment is still required.
-
Minimum frequency of visits is recommended to be at least 4 weekly. It is recommended to brush your dogs teeth everyday.
